Prince William Gives Kate Middleton Engagement Ring From Diana

Kate Middleton’s engagement ring is one that once belonged to her fiance’s late mother, Princess Diana.

Prince William proposed to Kate with an oval sapphire ring surrounded by diamonds that Princess Diana proudly owned. Kate now wears it just as proudly as a proclamation of her commitment to her fiance.

Prince Charles’s Clarence House made the formal announcement of the couple’s engagement. It was said that the long time couple had become engaged and planned to wed in 2011 in London. In addition to the formal announcement the royal family is working to embrace today’s technology. The family also sent a 148 character message via Twitter announcing the engagement.
