Protesters Plan Rallies At Apple Stores Tomorrow

Reports are coming in this evening that protests are being planned at Apple stores tomorrow (Thursday).

The Washington Post and CNN are to examples of the major media discussing the protests. However neither paper identifies an organizer of the protest. Both simply reference the online petitions being signed at Change.org and SumOfUs.org as the starting point. We were also unable to find much buzz about an Apple protest at stores on Twitter or Facebook.

No doubt there will be some activity though. Change.org says it has gathered 197,075 online signatures regarding its petition asking Apple to improve the treatment of its workers at Chinese suppliers. This after an expose by the New York Times detailed mistreatment, injuries, and deaths of workers making Apple products.

Another petition drive was conducted at SumOfUs.org, who claims 56,663 online signatures tonight.

Tomorrow the petitions will reportedly be delivered to Apple stores in Washington, DC, New York, San Francisco, London, Sydney, and Bangalore, India.
