Up-and-coming Ray Fisher talks about his role as Cyborg, and getting his own solo film in 2020.
Primarily a stage actor who appeared in the hit Off-broadway show Fetch Clay, Make Man (in which he played Muhammad Ali), Ray Fisher will be officially making his big on-screen debut in 2016’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, as Victor Stone a.k.a Cyborg.
In a recent interview, Fisher talks a little about what’s to come,
I didn’t know the extent to which DC and WB had planned on taking my character, when I signed on, I just wanted to be part of this world. But that specific information, I found out then and there. I didn’t think I’d be getting my own stand-alone film… Let me tell you, man, people are in for a hell of a treat.
Created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez in 1980, Cyborg was originally a member of the Teen Titans. The son of two prominent S.T.A.R labs scientists, Victor was a star athlete before a tragic accident forced his father to reconstruct him using high-tech experimental prosthetics.
With the relaunch of the DC continuity in the new 52, Cyborg has been established as a founding member of the Justice League.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will release March 25th 2016, starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Amy Adams
