Rebecca Black Quits School Due To Bullying [Video]

Rebecca Black has officially dropped out of school due to constant harassment and bullying from her schoolmates.

The bullying towards the 14-year-old star is apparently a result of her success after releasing her music video for the controversial song “Friday,” that many deemed as a joke.

Black’s “Friday” went viral after it was posted on YouTube. It went from a few thousand views to 70,000 views in one night, and then reached 200,000 views the next. The views for “Friday” continued to skyrocket until it had more than 100 million views from people all around the world.

For those who aren’t familiar with the song or video, Rebecca Black’s “Friday” can be watched in the video player below.

Regardless of her video’s success, many of Black’s peers bully her in what seems like pure jealousy, according to her mother. It makes sense, seeing as the young starlet attends Hollywood premieres, has performed on American Idol, and is friends with pop superstar Katy Perry.

Black recently told ABC’s Nightline, “When I walk by they’ll start singing ‘Friday’ in a really nasally voice. Or you know, they’ll be like, ‘Oh hey Rebecca, guess what day it is?'”

Black will now be home schooled in order to focus on her education in a more positive location, as well as her musical career.

The interview that took place on ABC’s Nightline can be viewed in the video player below.
