Redmayne Possible Lead in Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them

Eddie Redmayne has been offered the lead role in J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He was rumored for the part about a month ago but now the offer is out there.

The star is in talks to play the main protagonist, Newt Scamander, the “magiczoologist.” Rowling’s script has been turned in and Redmayne is quite happy with what he has read so far.

This will be J.K. Rowling’s first time writing for the big screen with David Yates directing.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set in New York roughly 70 years before the start of Harry Potter. It is based on a Hogwarts textbook of the same name that narrates the accounts of Newt Scamander, the book’s author.

Besides Newt Scamander, the studio is looking to cast four more other roles, two American girls and two American boys.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will begin shooting this summer.

Do you think Eddie Redmayne is the right choice to play the lead?

Are there any other potential actors that are better suited?
