Ringly, the new type of wearable tech for women, is now available for pre-order.
While Google Glass and the Samsung Smartwatch are battling for the leading role in wearable tech, Ringly has quietly emerged from the sidelines. Ringly takes a more subtle approach to wearable tech than the smartwatch or Glass by giving women the opportunity to look fashionable as well as functional.
Ringly comes as an 18k gold ring and can have one of four different semi-precious stones including: Black Onyx, Pink Sapphire, Rainbow Moonstone, and Emerald. On the side of the ring, you will find a small LED light that’s capable of showing the entire color spectrum.
Once you download the Ringly app off the App Store or Google Play Store, Ringly will connect to your phone using a Bluetooth LE signal. You’re then able to use the app and customize the notifications that Ringly displays.
For example, you can have your ring vibrate three times if your significant other is calling, or you can have the LED glow a dark blue if you have a Facebook notification.
What about charging Ringly? Depending on the amount of notifications you get and how you customize Ringly, you’ll get anywhere from one to three days of battery, according to the company. When it’s in need of charging, Ringly’s ring box will also double as a charger.
Ringly is available right now for pre-order at the price of $145. Once Ringly is fully released, the company said it will be priced at $195-$260.
