Rio Summer Olympics 2016: Opening Ceremony, Free Live Stream, Dates, Schedule & More

The 2016 Summer Olympics kick off this Friday, August 5 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and it is expected to be a spectacle for the ages- one many don’t want to miss.

For fans who want to watch all the action, from the opening ceremonies to the closing, here are all the details:

Dates: The 2016 Summer Olympics run from Friday, August 5 through Sunday, August 21st.

Opening Ceremony: The opening ceremony takes place on Firday, from 7:30 P.M. EST- 12 A.M. EST.

TV Schedule/Re-Broadcast: All the events, including the opening ceremonies, will air live on NBC; NBC will also re-broadcast highlights of each days events from 1:30- 5 A.M. EST.

Free Live Stream: Free live streaming will be available on your PC through and on mobile devices and tablets through the NBC Olympics app for AndroidiOSWindows, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV sticks, and Roku streaming boxes, sticks and TVs.

Please note that although streaming is free, you will need to log-in using a participating cable provider.

Telemundo, which is owned be NBC, will also live stream over 720 hours of events through its website as well as their Telemundo Desportes apps for iOS and Android.

NBC will be streaming over 4,500 hours of action- including concurrent streams of events where there are multiple participants (like Tennis where there are multiple matches happening at once).

That means you will get to see live footage that you can’t get on TV.
