Robert Langdon Thrown Into Dante’s Inferno In New Dan Brown Novel

Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons and The Lost Symbol, is bringing back his popular symbologist Robert Langdon in a new book entitled Inferno.

The book is set in Italy, as many of Dan Brown’s novels are, and centers around the literary masterpiece Dante’s Inferno.

Dan Brown apparently became interested in the story during his trip to Florence, and thought that he could bring aspects of the masterpiece to the modern world.

“Although I studied Dante’s Inferno as a student, it wasn’t until recently, while researching in Florence, that I came to appreciate the enduring influence of Dante’s work on the modern world,” Dan said. “With this new novel, I am excited to take readers on a journey deep into this mysterious realm…a landscape of codes, symbols, and more than a few secret passageways.”

Doubleday made the announcement earlier today. The book will be available  May 14th in both the US and Canada, and will also be made available as a Random House Audio and ebook.

Currently Amazon.com has the book listed for $17.97 for pre-order.
