Ruben Fleischer In Running To Direct Ghostbusters 3

A number of directors have been attached, only to become unattached, to Ghostbusters 3, which isn’t yet a sure thing to get made, but the latest name is Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer.

Back in March, Ivan Reitman, who directed the first two Ghostbusters movies, announced that he would not be directing the third installment, in part due to sadness following the death of Ghostbusters co-star Harold Ramis.

A few directors have popped up in the rumor mill since them, but now there is talk that Sony is considering Fleischer for the job.

Fleischer hasn’t had a lot of success with his last two feature films: 30 Minutes or Less and Gangster Squad.  However, Fleischer’s directorial debut, Zombieland, blended together comedy, drama, horror, and action, which could make him a good fit for Ghostbusters 3.

Of course, there’s no guarantee that Ghostbusters 3 will get made, or that Fleischer’s schedule will match up with production, which isn’t expected to begin until 2015, if at all.

Do you think Fleischer is a good fit to direct Ghostbusters 3?  Do you think the movie will end up getting made?  Let us know how excited you are to see Ghostbusters 3 if it gets made.
