Samsung has officially released its pricing for the Gear 2 and Gear Fit, two of its soon to be released wearable devices.
The Gear 2 ( Samsung’s newest smartwatch) is going to sell for $297, just slightly less than the original Gear, which retailed for $300.
The Gear Fit (Samsung’s new fitness band) will retail at $197.
Another new device, the Gear 2 Neo, is expected to retail for $250, although Samsung has not announced a price for it yet.
The Gear 2 Neo is a slimmer version of the Gear 2, but without the camera.
As reported previously by Consumer Press, and now confirmed by Samsung, the Gear 2 and Gear Fit will be available April 11 in over 130 countries.
April 11 is also when Samsung will launch the new Galaxy S5.
There had been rumors that the Gear 2 and Gear Fit would be priced more competitively, but this announcement puts an end to those whispers.
With so many competitors, like the Moto 360, priced to sell, Samsung may have priced its devices too high for them to sell profitably in the current market.
