Samsung Infuse Goes On Sale Next Sunday

Samsung, together with AT&T, announced the launch date of its latest smartphone, the Infuse 4G on Thursday. It will be out in the market this May 15, 2011 for $199 which will include a 2-year contract with AT&T.

Samsung gave us a sneak peek of Infuse last January. Infuse is only 8.9mm thick making it the thinnest in AT&Ts line of smartphones. It has a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED plus 800 x 480 touchscreen, an inch bigger than iPhone’s

Infuse comes with Android 2.2.1 and the standard black-slab style. Samsung also added its latest AMOLED technology which gives more sub pixels for better outdoor visibility and true color. This is combined with an 8 megapixel rear camera which can capture 720p HD videos and a 1.3 megapixel front camera for video calls.

Samsung’s Infuse 4G is powered by a 1.2 single core processor which makes it faster than most smartphones currently available. The Infuser’s HSPA 14 can reach speeds up to 21mbps making Infuse a true 4G phone. Infuse also has HSUPA 6 for upload speeds of up to 6mbps.

Samsung and AT&T also plan to attract more buyers by offering a preloaded Angry Bird game with a level available unique only to Infuse phones. The phone also comes with a 2 GB memory card and can be upgraded up to 32 GB.
