The new SimCity is set for a March 5 release and a number of discounts and pre-order bonuses are available.
The bonuses, and versions available, vary depending on the store the pre-order is purchased from.
Versions
There are two versions being released:
SimCity Limited Edition
The Limited Edition is SimCity’s base pre-order package. It is available at a number of retailers for $59.99.
The Limited Edition contains the Heroes and Villains Set. This bonus content allows players to include a super hero HQ or an evil lair in their city. These buildings spawn the heroic MaxisMan to fight crime, or the evil Dr. Vu to start a crime wave.
SimCity Digital Deluxe Edition
The Digital Deluxe Edition of SimCity is exclusively available from EA’s Origin store. The Digital Deluxe Edition contains all of the content found in the Limited Edition and more.
The Digital Deluxe Edition Contains:
- The Heroes and Villains Set
- The British City Set including Big Ben, British themed buildings and London taxis
- The French City Set including the Eiffel Tower, French themed buildings and a French police upgrade
- The German City Set including the Brandenburg Gate, German themed buildings and a high-speed rail upgrade
Origin Prices & Pre-order Bonuses
At Origin, the SimCity Limited Edition costs $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition costs $79.99.
As a pre-order bonus, shoppers receive a $20 coupon that can be used later on select titles from Origin.
Origin is also offering another exclusive pre-order bonus. Both versions of the game will come with Plumbob Park. Origin says “Just drop this scenic park anywhere in your city and watch your Sims revel in the great outdoors!”
Other Outlets
The Limited Edition of SimCity can be pre-ordered from Amazon.com for $59.99. This version comes bundled with a $20 Amazon promotional credit (there are some limitations on it).
Walmart is offering a similar deal. SimCity Limited Edition is selling for $59.96 bundled with a $20 Walmart gift card. Even though this offer can be claimed online, Walmart doesn’t appear to be offering digital delivery of the game.
A number of other retailers, such as GameStop and BestBuy, are offering the Limited Edition of SimCity for around the $59.99 mark. Surprisingly, no $20 coupons/cards or other pre-order bonuses offered from these two.
SimCity will be released in stores and online on March 5 in North America. Australia will have to wait until March 7 and Europe March 8.
