Amy Winehouse, the 27-year-old British R&B singer, was found dead in her London home this afternoon. The singer was known for her soulful music and unique fashion, as well as for drugs and drinking problems.
Police received a call at 4:05PM calling for help for a women in Camden. Paramedics were sent immediately, but Winehouse was found dead at the scene.
Winehouse’s death is “unexplained” at the moment, but according to police, her death is not thought to be suspicious. Sources supposedly have told the Sunday Mirror that an overdose of drink and drugs may have been the cause of her death.
Close friends of Winehouse had reportedly voiced their fears that she had been drinking herself to death. According to the Sunday Mirror her friends said, “Her drinking is totally out of control. Amy is constantly out of control on vodka.”
Amy Winehouse is one of the many musicians to die at the young age of 27, such as Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, and Jim Morrison.
