Skype’s New Video Messaging Feature Is Already Here For Some

Redmond’s Skype recently introduced e-gift and automatic reconnect dropped call features.

Now the post from PhoneArena states that Skype’s new video messaging feature is rolling out on Android and iOS apps.

Skype’s Twitter account shows the company is testing the service with a group of mobile and mac users. Consumers can check it out to see if they’re eligible for the test by opening up a contact name in Skype and searching under the ‘More’ category.

The category will now include an option to send video messages. To start, press the record button, and tap the same button again to stop the video and send the message.

The video time will be three minutes, and a limited number of video messages can be sent for free. Looks like it’s going to be a premium feature, and the videos sent won’t be deleted from the server.

However, regular users of Skype won’t find it much useful.

The feature will be available for users in U.S, U.K and several other undisclosed countries.

Do you use Skype? What are your thoughts on the feature? Feel free to leave comments.
