The Galaxy S4 has been unveiled and is expected to hit the market late April to early May.
Now there are indications that Apple has a rush on their new iPhone 5S, in an apparent attempt to get it out in time to go head to head with the S4.
A new report from China (via DT) states that components for Apple’s next iPhone will start shipping in the third quarter of this year. The third fiscal quarter runs from April to June.
Upgraded features include the camera and processor along with other improvements.
The sources said that if the supply of components goes smoothly, manufacturers will be able to bring new iPhone 5S to retail channels within 1-2 weeks. It’s unclear if that is 1-2 weeks from now, or from the delivery of the components.
Apart from the upgraded camera and processor features, which have also been reported by Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities, the iPhone 5S may include one ‘killer feature,’ according to Katy Huberty, from Morgan Stanley.
DigiTimes also reports that Apple may release a $300 device this year, which is possibly a budget iPhone. However, the source labels it as a rumor, and no evidence of a budget iPhone has been reported.
No release date has been announced for the S4 in the US.
Think this will light a fire under Samsung to release the S4 ASAP?
