Episode 9 of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ was a heart-breaking one as Bobby (Mark Boone Junior) was killed by Marks (Billy Brown), as the war between him and Jax reached it’s boiling point.
Jax (Charlie Hunnam),had met with Marks (Billy Brown) and agreed to give him the preacher’s body, the phone with the incriminating evidence and the preacher’s son, who Marks swore he wouldn’t kill.
Marks told Jax he was disappointed in how things turned out and that his vengeance wasn’t worth it.
Jax replied that Mark’s could never understand because he has no family.
When they met up to make the exchange Jax and Marks decided they would do the exchange alone: Bobby for the evidence, but as Marks led Bobby over he pulled a gun from Bobby’s back waistband and then shot him in the head.
Marks told Jax this was the price for his betrayal; I didn’t think Marks would let him live, as Bobby would always be a threat to him for what they did to him.
It was a poignant moment, as Bobby was always the voice of reason and so strong. His death was hard to take.
Needless to say it looks like there is more vengeance coming.
The show ended with Marks being arrested for the preachers murder, as they didn’t give him all the evidence.
The other big news of the night was that Unser (Dayton Callie) uncovered Gemma’s secret- well, one of them.
After Gemma (Katey Sagal) identified the Chinese man she “saw” the night of Tara’s murder, Sherrif Jarry (Annabeth Gish) discovered that the man was in jail in another state at the time of the murder.
If that wasn’t bad enough for Gemma Abel heard her yet again saying she’s sorry, this time to Bobby’s body before they buried him.
Abel has such hatred when he looks at Gemma that it actually makes me uncomfortable; even if she manages to survive she will definitely be without her grand-babies.
The other highlights of the night were:
-The Indian Hills chapter paid an unexpected visit and Jax explained about Jury’s illegitimate son and him admitting he was the rat. The Indian Hills guys informed Jax others will be coming down and they will have to figure out what is true.
-The show opened with a sight we haven’t seen in a while: Jax, laying in bed and cuddling with Abel. It was nice to see Jax starting to re-connect with his kids and showed that the fog of rage has lifted enough for him to start to see what matters.
-When Jarry pushed for more info from Gemma about the Chinese man, Gemma said she was corrupt and on Chib’s (Tommy Flanagan) d**k; then they got into a fist-fight.
-Jarry asked Chibs to prove he has feelings for her, so they did it in the parking lot, with one of the SAMCRO guys just a few feet away..
-Wendy was tempted to do drugs while up at the cabin with the boys and the preacher’s wife, who is detoxing.
-Since they know Juice (Theo Rossi) is lying the Sheriff had his deal pulled and now he can’t get to Lin.
Line of the night: Tig (Kim Coates) tells Happy (David Labrava) that he likes doing jobs wit him because when he does Tig is the “normal” one.
