Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Spoilers: Courtney Love Joins Cast, 1st Clip,”Hell Awaits” Released[Video] Update

Charming’s going to be rockin’ and rollin’ this season: it was just announced that  Courtney Love is joining the cast, joining fellow shock rocker Marilyn Manson, who signed on a few weeks ago.

TV Line is reporting that Love will play Abel’s “straight-shooting preschool teacher”.  There’s no information at this time on how many episodes she will be appearing in or how prominent the role will be.

It is unlikely the 2 rockers will share any screen time since Manson is playing jailed white-supremacist Ron Tully, but hey-stranger things have happened, so you never know.

Fans can also get their first look at the upcoming final season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ below as FX debuted the 1st 20 second teaser clip for season 7 last night during ‘Tyrant’.

The teaser is quite short and there’s no dialogue, but the imagery and symbolism is truly intense.

In the clip, titled: “Hell Awaits” Jax (Charlie Hunnam) is seen riding alone in the dead of night.  As he rides his face fades to a skeleton and then back again, with the sequence repeating throughout the clip.

The question is: Does the skeletal image mean Jax is riding towards vengeance or is he a man broken heading towards his demise?

Based on the determined look on his face, I’m guessing Jax is on his way to inflict some serious damage on somebody (at least I hope so).

For those of you who do not know, season 6 ended with Jax’s wife being murdered by his mother Gemma (Katey Segal), although Jax doesn’t know it.  He also doesn’t know fellow SAMCRO member Juice (Theo Rossi) helped her cover it up.

This clip might indicate the beginning of the end for Gemma and Juice ( I will hate seeing them go but I can only imagine how raw and emotional that showdown will be).

Fans who are familiar with the show’s creator, the exceptionally talented Kurt Sutter, know a lot of the story lines and images are inspired from Hamlet, which he has a deep affinity for.

The skeleton seen in this clip is eerily reminiscent of the one in Hamlet’s Gravediggers scene, where Hamlet upon learning of Ophelia’s death, comes face to face with the skull of Yorick as he mulls death’s meaning.

Clips seen on Twitter in recent weeks from the set of SOA also feature a lot of skulls and skeletons and although we can never really know what Kurt has planne, all these skeletal images may be a harbinger of the characters’ fates this final season.

Fans will just have to wait until September, when the 7th and final season airs, to find out what it all means.
