Sony’s new Xperia Tablet Z is now available for purchase.
Sony issued an official statement announcing the tablet is now available for consumers through third party stores and Sony’s own retail stores.
Sony labels the device as ‘the world’s slimmest, lightest, premium Android tablet’.
The features include 2 GB RAM, a 10-inch display at 1080 pixels, an 8 MP Sony Exmor R rear camera, a Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 16 GB internal SD memory, a microSD slot for memory expansion and the option of 4G LTE networking.
Amazon’s price for the 16 GB version of Sony Xperia Tablet Z is $499.99. The estimated arrival date is May 24.
Other than being lightweight, the device is also resistant to dust and water. Sony estimates the device can survive depths up to 3 feet for up to 30 minutes.
More online retailers are expected to offer the device soon.
