Soon You’ll Be Able To Pick Up Your Amazon Purchase At Staples

Amazon has partnered with Staples stores in the U.S. to offer lockers for package pickups.

Amazon launched its Lockers program last year in an effort to provide customers an alternative to leaving packages sitting at the door or having to miss deliveries.

Amazon Lockers are currently available at certain brick-and-mortar stores in the US and UK including some 7 Eleven, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, and Safeway stores.

Only small packages weighing less than 10 pounds are eligible for shipment to the small-sized lockers.

When checking out at Amazon, the shopper selects a specified locker at participating locations. Upon delivery, the customer is sent an email with a pickup code to enter on a touchscreen at the locker. Customers have three days after delivery to pick their package up.

Amazon offers the locker delivery service free of charge to shoppers.

Retailers that house the lockers are paid a small fee by Amazon, who is trying to offer a form of in-store pickup similar to other retailers, like Walmart, Target and Sears.

When will you be able to pick up your Amazon purchase at your local Staples? No word on that yet. The companies did not say when the lockers would be available, or which Staples would get them first.
