SpaRitual Vegan Nail Polish Review

SpaRitual Vegan Nail Polish Review

SpaRitual is a lesser-known brand to many and since it can be hard to find swatches for online, I wanted to share my experience with the brand.

SpaRitual offers a line of spa treatment products, nail care products, nail lacquers, lip glosses, and candles that are vegan, eco-friendly, and cruelty-free.

This is by far my favorite nail polish out of any of the brands I have tried (that includes the big names like Essie, OPI, and drug store brands). The color selection is fantastic, the formula is pro quality, and application is excellent.

The bottle and brush are crafted with the user in mind and make normally difficult applications a breeze.

I find the brush is much easier to control than most brands. It’s just the right length and width for getting into and around all the curves of the nail and nail bed, while still providing excellent coverage.

The bottle toppers are covered with a rubber grip that makes the polish much easier to open and allows for less slippage during application. I’ve never had a problem with the lids getting stuck on these and being impossible to open thanks to the rubberized grip.

Colors and finishes offered include everything available and popular in the nail world right now: shimmers, glitters, crèmes, and metallics ranging in shades from bright to subdued, neon to classic. Finishes include glosses, shimmers, mattes, duochromes, and textured.

As for the formula, it has been excellent on any color I’ve tried and wear time is great too. The polish is smooth and creamy to apply, the flow is just right– not too runny and not too thick. I usually end up with fewer mistakes and clean up around the edges since it glides so smoothly onto the nail.

Another reason I prefer this brand to others is that it doesn’t engage in animal testing or use animal by-products. Since SpaRitual products are vegan, it’s nice to know the shimmer in the lacquers doesn’t come from ingredients like fish skin or scales.

The company was actually the first to offer a vegan professional spa treatment line that was also free of harmful chemicals. The polishes are naturally colored from vegan ingredients and free of synthetic dyes and fragrances. They are also 5-free (meaning they’re free of free of toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, and camphor).

SpaRitual says it is committed to environmental awareness and sustainability. They use eco-friendly packaging; its polish bottles are created from recycled glass; and they also release charity colors, such as its Aware shade, that support a cause.

The only drawback is how difficult these polishes can be to find in person. The brand is mostly offered in spas and isn’t available in mass retail outlets except for Sephora which offers a limited selection of around 20 shades both in store and online.

There is a spa finder on the SpaRitual website, but it isn’t very complete. My town isn’t even listed for example, and I know of at least one spa locally that does carry the brand. I’ve also come across a limited selection at EarthFare, which also isn’t listed on the site.

The best selection can be found online at the following retailers, some of which offer SpaRitual gift sets as well: Zappos (free shipping), AveYou (also carries the mini bottles), Beauty.com, SkinBotanica, Apothica, SkinStore, and Amazon.

Canadians can find SpaRitual at  Nail Polish Canada, which is offering free shipping for a limited time.

For international buyers, Feel Unique carries the brand and offers free delivery worldwide.

More information about the company and its products can be found at SpaRitual.com.
