Spartacus, the TV show, managed to capture a wide part of its audience due to the sheer brutality that was portrayed.
Now Ubisoft and Starz are preparing to launch a new video game based on the show. It will be called Spartacus Legends, and it appears to be just as violent and gruesome as the original TV series.
The producers are promoting the game by offering those interested a chance to be a part of the design process. They have launched a competition that allows fans to submit design ideas for the weapons and armor that are to be featured in the game.
Designs will be voted on by the gaming community, according to the competition’s Spartacus/Starz Facebook App.
Then the ultimate winner will be chosen by a panel of judges, which is to include Steven De Knight (the creator of Spartacus) and Liam McIntyre (the actor that plays Spartacus).
The competition is being rolled out in two phases. First is the weapons design, which runs from 10/10 to 10/26. The second part is the armor design, which will be held from 10/26 to 11/16.
Spartacus Legends is set for a winter, 2013 release date. A trailer for the game is below. Let us know what you think of the show and the game in the comments section!
