Spoiler Alert: Shocking American Idol Elimination Results

Tonight on Season 12 of American Idol, the first contestant of the Top 10 finalists was eliminated.

For the first time in the history of the show, Ryan Seacrest revealed the top 3 contestants in no particular order and announced the rankings of the remainder of the contestants. He even gave results on how some of them did in their home states.

Seacrest named the top three spots and the girls dominated. Candice Glover was the first one to be given a top 3 spot as she received 42 percent of the vote in South Carolina.

Up next, Kree Harrison who received the key to the city of Woodville Texas, joined Glover in the top 3.

Angie Miller was then told that she had received 17 percent of Florida’s votes and could join Glover and Harrison in the Top 3.

Following performances by last season’s winner Phillip Phillips and Bon Jovi, it was time for two previously eliminated semi-finalists to compete for a spot on the Season 12 American Idol Tour.

It was a battle between Charlie Askew and Aubrey Cleland.

Charlie Askew performed his own original song, “Blue Sky Diamond” while playing the piano.

Aubrey Cleland performed Irene Cara’s “Out Here On My Own.”

Host Ryan Seacrest explained that it will be up to America to vote on which one of them will be able to join the Top 10 contestants on tour. We will find out next week who the winner will be!

Ok, now back to results!

Seacrest began to announce that Lazaro Arbos got more votes than Angie Miller in Florida, but less votes nationwide. He ended up placing fourth for the night.

Amber Holcomb was in 5th place, Janelle Arthur in 6th place, Burnell Taylor in 7th Place, and Paul Jolley took 8th place.

Devin Velez and Curtis Finch Jr. were in the bottom 2.

Shockingly, it was Curtis Finch Jr. who received the least amount of votes. The elimination is super surprising as Finch had one of the strongest voices in the competition and was a consistent favorite of the judges.

It was then time for Finch to sing a final song in hopes that the judges would use their one and only save of the competition. He gave everything he got with an incredible vocal of “I Believe I Can Fly.”

Unfortunately, the judges did not unanimously choose to save him.

Nicki Minaj appeared to be disappointed by the decision and explained how she didn’t feel that there was enough of a discussion about the final decision. However, the decision was final and Finch was sent home!
