Sprint has been criticized for being slow in rolling out their 4G LTE service.
But yesterday’s announcement that they are expanding the service to 9 additional markets in the U.S. may indicate the carrier plans to get its high speed data in gear..
The 9 markets that are going to receive the LTE expansion are:
- Asheville: NC
- Altoona: Pa
- Hammond: La
- La Crosse: Wis.
- Temple: Texas
- Statesville: N.C.
- Elkhart/Goshen: Ind.
- Columbus, Ind.
- San Juan: Puerto Rico.
Of course, to actually take advantage of the high data speeds Sprint’s 4G LTE network, users will need to have a smartphone or tablet that’s compatible with the service.
Sprint is also working on improving signal strength for it non-4G users, as part of their network building, according to the announcement.
