The Canucks had taken an early 2-0 lead in the series before Boston fought back strongly to make it two games apiece. Interestingly, Canucks’ wins came through one-goal margins while Boston won 8-1 and 4-0 in the third and the fourth game respectively.
This was followed by Canucks taking a 3-2 lead in the series, with another 1-0 win over the opponents before the lead was submerged by a strong Bostons’ comeback in the sixth. The Bruins won 5-2 to force the NHL finals into the seventh game.
The Canucks will be a tad happier because of the seventh game being a home encounter, but the momentum, which is with the Bruins will look to overcome the 39-year long wait for the title.
