‘Straight Outta Compton’, the box-office smash hit, is coming to FX later this year.
The FX Network has secured the exclusive rights to the movie, so they will be the first ones to air it on the small screen once its run in the theaters is over.
This is the latest big score for the network, who has also gotten the rights to several other big films, including ‘Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation’, ‘Jurassic World’, ‘Minions’, ‘Furious 7’ and more.
‘Straight Outta Compton’ is a biopic about the rap group N.W.A, pioneers of gangsta rap and one of the most controversial groups to ever grab a mic.
N.W.A.’s original line-up consisted of rap legends Ice Cube, the late Easy-E, Dr.Dre and Arabian Prince; MC Ren and DJ Yella joined later on.
The movie stars O’shea Jackson, Jr., Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, Aldis Hodge, Neil Brown Jr., and Paul Giamatti; Jackson, who is Ice Cube’s son, plays his father in the film.
Produced by Dr. Dre the movie cost just $29 million to make and grossed over $60 million in its opening weekend.
