Stunner! Whitney Houston Dead At 48

Singer/Actress Whitney Houston died earlier today, according to her publicist, Kristen Foster.

Most of the circumstances surrounding her death have not been made public, but Beverly Hills police said she was pronounced dead in her hotel room at 3:55pm PST.  They said their were no indications “of criminal intent.” Whitney Houston was reported to be in LA to attend tomorrow night’s Grammy Awards.

The singer shot to fame in the 80’s and 90’s with hits like “The Greatest Love of All,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” “How Will I Know,” “I’m Every Woman,” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me).” She also had starring roles in “The Bodyguard” and “Waiting to Exhale.”

Houston had long admitted to the heavy use of drugs, including marijuana, alcohol, cocaine and prescription drugs. In a 2002 interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer, Houston said that her drug abuse days were over. “I am not self destructive. I’m a person who has life, and wants to live.” However, late last year the singer admitted that she was attending an outpatient rehab program.

Houston had a 14 year volatile marriage to singer Bobby Brown, the couple divorced in 2006.
