Super Bowl A Super Priority

Would you miss the birth of your child go to the Super Bowl? How about the wedding of a close friend, or the funeral of loved one?

If you said yes to any of the above, you’re not alone. According to a recent survey by Coupon Cabin, quite a few other Americans would do the same.

The survey, completed by Harris Interactive for the coupon dealing site, found that 20% of adults said they would miss the wedding of a close friend or family member to attend the Super Bowl. 21% responded that they would miss an important work responsibility to go. Almost the same number, 19%, said they would miss the funeral of a loved one.

A somewhat smaller number, 15%, said they would miss the birth of their child to go to the Super Bowl. The survey did not break down the number of males versus females that answered this question.

The survey came up with several additional interesting facts. 56% of the respondents said they plan to watch the Super Bowl this year. This question was broken down by male vs female, with 67% of males, and 46% of females, saying they plan to watch.

Overall, 47% said they watch the game for the football. 37% said they watched the Super Bowl for the commercials. About about a third said they watch the game because they like Super Bowl parties.
