The day after Christmas, and all through the store, the shoppers were gathering to get even more!
Day After Chistmas Sales are taking off just like the Black Friday Sales that started this holiday spending spree. Anecdotal reports are coming in of stores crowded with customers looking for bargains, spending money and gift cards, on hot sale items.
Shoppers will find Day After Christmas and Year End Clearances at stores like WalMart, KMart, Target, Best Buy, Sears and more.
Scott Krugman, of the National Retail Federation, said “There is a confluence of events in terms of returns, gift card redemptions, and clearance that will make it a perfect storm in terms of customer traffic.” However, he does not expect sales to be as strong as they were last Saturday.
WalMart’s across the country opened at 6 am this morning. They are having storewide clearance sales on items both in-store and through their website.
Target is having Day After Christmas sales in stores and through their website. On their site they are offering free shipping on thousands of items (with a minimum order amount) and have deals on laptops, clothes and other items.
Sears is having a Day After Christmas sale with up to 65% off select items.
Best Buy has discounts on electronics and other items both today and on Monday.
Online, Wirefly is having an end of the year Blowout Sale on cell phones.
As mentioned on this site earlier, Amazon doesn’t appear to be doing much of anything in the way of a Day After Christmas Sale, but Barnesandnoble.com is, with 50% or more off of thousands of books, calendars, cds and home gifts, according to thier site.
