Tablet Trade-In Program Now Available At Your Local Walmart

Tablet Trade-In Program Now Available At Your Local Walmart

Walmart announced yesterday that they will add tablets to their current trade-in program – in the past they have only accepted cellphones.

You will now be able to trade-in your older tablet for up to $300, which you can in turn use to purchase a newer model.

This news comes due to customer requests after Walmart launched their cellphone trade-in program earlier this fall.

“We listened and are happy to add tablets to our trade-in program just in time for the holidays” said  Steve Bratspies, executive vice president of general merchandise for Walmart U.S.

The program began yesterday, October 23rd at 9 a.m. – customers can bring in their used tablets to any Walmart or Sams Club electronics department.

The criteria to determine the value will be based upon:

  • Does it power on?
  • Is the display fully functional and free of dead spots?
  • Is the tablet and display completely free of cracks?
  • What is the wireless carrier?

Once the value is accepted by the customer, the money will be put towards the purchase of a newer tablet.

If the value of the newer tablet is less than the trade-in value of the older model, the balance will be put on a Walmart gift card.
