Taylor Swift was named Billboard Magazine’s Biggest Money Maker earlier today.
Billboard estimated the country singer’s earnings at more than $35.7 million last year. Billboard credited the majority of her income, $29.8 million, to her Speak Now album and tour, which featured concerts in Asia, Europe, and North America.
U2 raked in just over $32 million and came in second place on the Billboard Money Makers chart. Ranked third was Kenny Chesney, with 29.8 million. Lady Gaga was in fourth with 25.3 million. Lil Wayne was fifth with 23.1 million. Sade ($16.3 million), Bon Jovi ($19.8 million), Celine Dion ($14.2 million), Jason Aldean ($13.4 million), and Adele ($13 million) rounded out the top 10.
This is the second year in a row that Bon Jovi has been ranked second on the list. Last year (the 2011 awards, for the previous year’s earnings), it was Lady Gaga on top with earnings of $30.5 million. Taylor Swift was ranked sixth on the 2011 Biggest Money Makers chart.
