An “Inception” teaser poster hit the web in December 2009. This poster featured a row of skyscrapers towering above raging flood-waters. The image stated that “Inception” was the best creation by the director of “The Dark Knight,” Christopher Nolan.
It now seems that, that the image on the teaser poster has become somewhat of an inspiration for the brand-new poster for Nolan’s third “Batman” movie, “The Dark Knight Rises.” The new poster (which can be viewed here) portrays buildings, presumably in Gotham City. Much like the teaser poster for “Inception,” this new teaser poster has a strong feel of destruction and chaos to it, featuring crumbling buildings and debris falling from the sky.
The cast for the third installation of Nolan’s “Batman” includes both old and new talent. The Academy Award-winning Christian Bale will play Bruce Wayne/Batman once again, while Michael Caine plays Batman’s voice of reason, Alfred Pennyworth. Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman will star as Lucius Fox and Commissioner Gordon. Anne Hathaway will be playing the role of the sexy and devious villain, Catwoman. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who worked with directer Nolan in “Inception,” will play the role of detective John Blake.
Reportedly, the first “The Dark Knight Rises” teaser trailer is supposed to debut during the previews of the much anticipated film “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” which opens Friday (July 16).
Production for Nolan’s film “The Dark Knight Rises” began recently in May 2011. “The Dark Knight Rises” is rumored to open in theaters July 20, 2012.
