The National Dog Show: Time, Channel, Details

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and with it comes family time, football games, and The National Dog Show.

The National Dog Show is an annual, two-benched, all-breed dog show presented by Purina, permitted by The American Kennel Club, and hosted by The Kennel Club of Philadelphia.

The National Dog Show will be broadcasted at noon Thanksgiving Day on NBC — right after the Macy’s Day Parade.

Categories in The National Dog Show include herding, non-sporting, toy, terrier, working, hound, and sporting.

The National Dog Show is one of the few remaining benched dog shows in the United States — meaning dogs must stay on assigned benches when they aren’t in the show ring. The National Dog Show has been a benched show since 1933.

Dog lovers who wanted to experience the show in person will have to wait until next year, as the shows took place Saturday, November 14, and Sunday, November 15.

The Best In Show winner of 2014 was a Bloodhound named Nathan.
