The Preakness 2014: TV & Online Streaming/ Favorites & Odds

The second leg of The Triple Crown, The Preakness, kicks off this evening at 6:18 P.M. (EST) at Pimlico Race Course on Baltimore, Maryland.

Everyone will be tuning in with two things on their mind: is 2014 Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome sick?  And will he win, as expected, and become a legitimate Triple Crown threat ?

Reports began circling on Thursday that the odds-on favorite (3-5) has a cough, causing many to fear he will be unable to race.

#ShermanRacing, which is the Twitter handle for the barn, responded later in the day with a statement assuring everyone that California Chrome is in perfect health.

If California Chrome does win, it will make the upcoming third leg of the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes, a must-see event.

Other contenders for today’s race include: Social Inclusion (5-1), Bayern (10-1), Ride On Curlin (10-1), Dynamic Impact (12-1), Genetral A-Rod (15-1), Ring Weekend (20-1), Kid Cruz (20-1), Pablo Del Monte (20-1) and Ria Antonia (25-1).

The race has a $1.5 million guaranteed purse and is 1 3/16 miles long.

NBC will begin its coverage of the event starting at 4 P.M. (EST); race time is 6:18 P.M. (EST).  You can also catch all the action through online streaming at NBCSports.Com
