The Voice 2014 Night 2 of Battle Rounds: Who Impressed?

The Voice 2014 Night 2 of Battle Rounds: Who Impressed?

It’s night 2 of the Battle Rounds on tonight’s episode of NBC’s season 6 of The Voice (2014).

As seen last night, each of the coaches have enlisted the assistance of music advisers to help coach the contestants in preparation for the battle rounds.

Team Shakira is joined by Miranda Lambert, while Team Blake’s adviser is The Band Perry. Team Adam is joined by Aloe Blacc, while Team Usher is advised by Jill Scott.

There were two battles tonight that were quite impressive. Let’s dig a bit deeper into our two favorite performances.

Team Adam’s Caleb Elder vs. Delvin Choice perform “The Man” by Aloe Blacc

Donut shop worker Caleb faces off against Starbucks barista Delvin Choice with their battle performance of Aloe Blacc’s “The Man.”

It’s clear from the start that Delvin has a stronger voice than Caleb. Caleb has a distinct grit to his voice that is very alluring, but we gotta say Delvin’s incredible vocal range overpowered Caleb’s.

Blake says, “You can tell y’all were having fun. You both had some problems, but Caleb had a lot more problems, which left the door open for Delvin.”

Usher says that when Delvin got to the higher notes, he kind of took us to church, while Shakira commends both contestants for giving a fun performance, but says that she gravitates toward deep voices and would choose Delvin.

Adam says, “I’m very proud of you guys. Caleb you have a great quality to your voice, but it does need to mature. Delvin, you got a lot of voice, so we gotta wrangle it in sometimes. I think both have shown me major improvements.”

Ultimately, Adam chooses Delvin Choice as the winner of the battle!

Team Usher’s Britnee Camelle & Melissa Jimenez “Give It To Me Right” by Melanie Fiona

R&B/pop singers Britnee and Melissa both gave a commanding vocal performance of Melanie Fiona’s “Give It To Me Right.” Both infused the perfect attitude and spunk that really brought the lyrics to life.

Although Britnee seemed to have a bit of an edge as her voice seemed to be a tad stronger, Melissa closed out the song with an unbelievable high note that brought her right back into the game.

Shakira describes the performance as awesome in pitch, pocket, and sassiness.

Adam says that even though Melissa hit that big note in the end, he believed that Britnee had a stronger voice.

Blake says that this battle pairing made the most sense and that the note that Melissa held was straight up desperation and that won the battle to him.

Usher says that the two managed to work it out in a way that allowed each of them to shine.

Usher ends up choosing Melissa! However, both Adam and Shakira push their buttons for a steal!

Britnee then ends up choosing to join Team Adam!

Who was your favorite battle of the night?! We want to know! Leave your thoughts below!

Don’t forget that tonight’s battle round performances can be purchased on iTunes right now!
