The Voice Blind Auditions: Ryan Innes Most Memorable Of The Night

NBC’s Season 4 of The Voice is in its final week of blind auditions! Tonight the competition is fierce as the coaches are getting closer to completing their teams of 12.

There were some outstanding performances tonight! Jeff Lewis created a beautiful acoustic rendition of Usher’s “You Got It Bad,” while singer-songwriter folk artist Caroline Glaser delivered a distinctly original cover of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer.”

One of the best performances of the night goes to Sasha Allen, who sang the Dixie Chicks’ “Not Ready To Make Nice.”

The mother of two, who is a classically trained pianist and a backup singer for John Legend, Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera, clearly impressed the judges with the first four chair turn around of the night.

Allen’s performance was absolutely sensational. She showed her powerful vocal range as she put a classical soulful spin on the popular country song.

Allen received a standing ovation from coaches Usher and Adam Levine.

Adam Levine stated: “You are magic. You have an unbelievable natural God Given gift that I really want to be apart of.”

Blake Shelton emphasized how much he believed Allen is meant to be on his team, while Shakira described Allen’s voice as beautiful and comically explained that “men are a different animal” and her being a female gives her an understanding of what it takes to win.

In the end, Allen chose Adam as her coach!

However, the most memorable performance of the night goes to Ryan Innes’ jaw-dropping performance of John Mayer’s “Gravity.”

WOW, his performance really blew us away. The dude has undeniable soul and commanding power in his voice. He perfectly showed the versatility in his voice by showing both his raspy tone and his incredibly sweet sounding falsetto.

Oh, and let’s not forget, he is covering a John Mayer song, which is so incredibly risky to do. But, he pulled it off so effortlessly.

Honestly, we don’t understand how Innes’ isn’t already headlining his own show.

Blake Shelton emphasized the soulful quality apparent in Innes’ voice, while stating: “That’s the most fun I’ve had today, the room came alive as you were singing.”

Shakira said, “I really enjoyed your performance. I was floating in my chair. You showed confidence that was very refreshing.”

Usher stressed his appreciation for the show’s emphasis on focusing on what you hear, instead of what you see. He explained his desire to win the show with voices that are able to shake people.

Usher acknowledged, “ You shook the room and I believe I can win with you.”

Adam pointed out the “ lightening quickness” he had in pushing his button first. He mentioned the little run at the start of the song instantly drew his attention.

He expressed, “I want to be apart of your journey. It was an electric moment. I’m so blown away by you.”

Ultimately, Innes ended up choosing Usher as his coach!!

What an incredible night of performances! While we are still trying to recover from Innes’ mind blowing performance, don’t forget to join us tomorrow night for our recap of the final night of blind auditions!
