The Voice, Knockout Round 2 – Highlights

Tuesday’s episode of NBC’s The Voice had Team Christina and Team Blake take the stage on the second day of knockout rounds.

Ten artists remained in each team. During this round, the coaches chose two artists from their team to perform against each other. However, unlike the Battle Rounds, the knockout rounds allow the contestants to each choose their own songs.

The standout knockout performance of the night has to go to Adriana Louise versus Celica Westbrook on Team Christina.

Louise performed Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone” with powerhouse vocals. Her ability to hit every note with incredible strength created an all-around stellar performance. Adam praised Louise for her vocal ability, stating that she has a “powerful Christina type voice.”

Louise’s opponent. Celica Westbrook. took a risk by adding her on twist to Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never.” She really did a good job of making the song her own. Christina gave mad props to the feisty aspect Westbrook embedded within the performance.

In the end, Christina ended up choosing Louise.

The Final Remaining Contestants on Christina’s Team include
:

Dez Duron who brilliantly performed Lionel Richie’s “Stuck on You”

De’borah, who gave her own unique spin on The Fray’s “You Found Me”

Sylvia Yacoub, who took one of the biggest risks of the night performing Christina’s “Fighter”

Devyn Deldera, who also took a huge risk in singing Whitney Houston’s “ I have Nothing.” Christina admitted to having a stronger connection with Deldera over her opponent Laura Davis, who gave, as Cee-lo called it, “a grand performance.” I have to give props to Davis who not only displayed incredibly deep and ground breaking vocals, but also created a sultry vibe by incorporating a portion of her performance with sexy salsa dance moves.

The Final Remaining Contestants on Blake’s Team include:

Liz Davis, who gave a killer performance of Miranda Lambert’s “Gun Powder and Lead”

Terry McDermott, who performed classic Paul McCartney song “Maybe I’m Amazed”

Michaela Paige, who sang Pat Benatar’s “Love is a Battlefield”

Julio Cesar, who performed Justin Bieber’s “Somebody to Love”

Cassadee Pope, who performed Maroon 5’s “Payphone”
