Tonight on NBC’s Season 5 of The Voice (2013), the top 3 contestants Tessanne Chin, Jacquie Lee, and Will Champlin have one last chance to prove why they deserve to be the Season 5 winner of The Voice.
Each of the contestants will perform three times. The contestants will perform their blind audition performance, a duet with their coach, and one last new song of their choice. So, who impressed tonight? Well, let’s recap our favorite performances in each Round!
Round 1: Best blind audition performance
We gotta give Round 1 to Jacquie Lee with her stellar rendition of Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black.” She performed the song even better than when she performed it during her blind audition. Tonight you could really hear the growth and maturity in her voice. Her powerful pipes immediately brought on the chills. She performed the song with such conviction and we were just so completely drawn in.
Coach Christina was the only coach to critique the performance and she had nothing but rave reviews. She stated: “I really get so much joy watching you do what you do. What is amazing is the fact that you’re 16. You make me look forward to coming back here every time. There is something so special inside of you.”
Round 2:Best Duet Performance
Tessanne Chin’s duet of “Let It Be” with Coach Adam Levine was probably the strongest in comparison to the other two duets. The duos’ voices blended so beautifully together. The harmonies were spot on. Tessanne sounded flawless throughout as she embedded some crazy rifts and runs that really captivated our attention.
Jacquie’s duet of “We Remain” with Coach Christina was good, but Christina overpowered her. Jacquie didn’t shine as much as we would have liked her to. But then again, when you’re singing with Christina it’s gonna be hard to stand out.
Round 3:Best Final Song
OK, WOW so Tessanne’s performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” has us convinced she will be the winner of Season 5 of The Voice. It always gets us antsy when a vocalist attempts to cover a Whitney song, but Tessanne rose to the occasion and delivered, giving an extraordinary vocal performance.
Her vocal was dynamically engaging and so perfectly controlled. Her beautiful vibrato emphasized the deeply sincere quality to her vocal performance.
Tessanne got a standing ovation by coach Adam as he stated: “I’m absolutely captivated and mesmerized by you. You are unlike anything I’ve ever heard. You are just capable of anything and it blows me away. I know that in my mind and my heart that you are the winner of this show.”
Alright so that does it for our recap! We predict powerhouse vocalist Tessanne will win, but the question is who do you think will be The Season 5 Winner of The Voice? We want to know! Leave your thoughts below!
