The Voice Top 5 Perform: Jacquie & Tessanne Blow Away Coaches

It is the semifinals on NBC’s Season 5 of The Voice (2013)!

The Top 5 performed tonight, each vying for a spot in next week’s finals. Team Adam still has three contestants left in the competition, including Tessanne Chin, James Wolpert, and Will Champlin. Team Christina lost Matthew Schuler last week and is now left with 16-year old powerhouse Jacquie Lee, while Team Blake consists solely of Cole Vosbury.

Who impressed tonight? Don’t worry we got you covered! Let’s recap some of the best performances of the night!

James Wolpert performs U2’s “With Or Without You

Pennsylvania Indie Rocker James Wolpert sang a hauntingly beautiful rendition of U2’s “With or Without You.”

Yes, he was a bit shaky at the start, but as soon as he transitioned into his higher register, it was quite magical.

Adam gave James a standing ovation and stated: “That was beyond what I thought you could do. I’m so proud.”

Blake says, “I thought you did a great job. After being America’s Instant Save last week, you needed a moment like that and I think you might have dug yourself out of the hole.”

Will Champlin performs Fun’s “Carry On”

We adored Will’s interpretation of Fun’s “Carry On.” As usual, he did a great job of showcasing his incredible vocal range as he infused the song with runs and some crazy high notes. We really loved how he performed with such an uplifting and fun spirit. We just can’t help but smile every time Will performs.

Adam says, “You had fun up there and totally went with it and I’m gushing. I’m just really proud of you.”

Cee Lo says, “It was really cool to see you all ‘swaggy’ up there. That was a great song choice. I love those anthems that encourage open-mindedness and I love your execution of it.”

Blake says, “I was wrapped up. I think you are gonna find out that opening up a bit and having a good time up there is gonna go a long way in this competition.”

Jacquie Lee performs “Angel” by Sara Mclachlan

WOW, Jacquie Lee gave one of her best performances tonight with her cover of “Angel” by Sara Mclachlan. It was such a beautiful and flawless vocal by the 16-year old powerhouse.

Coach Christina gives a standing ovation and states: “WOW, you did things I didn’t even know you were going to do tonight. You blew me away.

You chose your timing, your spots and your moments in the perfect places. You showed the most dynamic, you showed self-control and this was the best vocal performance by you. You straight up won in my heart tonight.”

Cee-lo says, “That was amazing, you were amazing. It was wonderful.”

Team Adam’s Tessanne Chin performs “Bridge Over Troubled Water”

Each time Tessanne steps onto The Voice stage, she always delivers a powerfully controlled vocal.

Tonight she sang with so much emotion. You could feel she meant every single word she sang.

Adam says, “That was crazy what just happened. I think that was probably the most flawless and graceful performance I’ve ever heard on this show.”

Blake agrees with Adam and says, “It was beautiful and I’m such a big fan of yours. I’m happy for you.”

Well, that does it for our recap! Who was your favorite performance tonight?! We want to know! Leave your thoughts below!
