AMC just put the season 4 premiere of The Walking Dead online for anyone to stream.
Normally, TWD episodes that AMC puts on their site can only be accessed by subscribers of particular cable services.
In a statement issued just moments ago, AMC said “This is the ONLY episode being made available without a log-in requirement. Future episodes of The Walking Dead will be available on amc.com the day after broadcast and accessible via log-in for select cable providers.”
The Walking Dead season 4 premiere, titled “30 Days Without an Accident,” was a big hit for AMC with a reported 16.1 million viewers. That smashes the debut of any other drama on any network so far this fall.
The season 4 premiere, which could easily be renamed “It’s raining Walkers,” (you’ll see what I mean when you watch it) set several issues in motion which I expect will be pursued vigorously in the next few episodes.
It was nice, however, to see our heroes, our ‘group,’ have a bit of a rest though. I always hate it when the characters are charging from one thing to another without a break. Even the infamous Jack Bauer got a bit of a break after 24 hours.
The rest is over though… the future looks bad.
AMC did not say how long The Walking Dead season 4 premiere would be streaming for free without being limited to cable subscribers. All of the episodes up until this one are also available on Netflix.
