On Wednesday, September 14th, the two-hour grand finale of “America’s Got Talent” took place, where Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. was crowned season six’s winner.
The finale came down to four brilliant acts: PopLyfe, Team iLuminate, The Silhouettes, and Landau Eugene Murphy Jr.
PopLyfe, a band made up of East Bay teenagers, were attempting to become the first band to win “America’s Got Talent.”
“We had the best experience of our lives,” said PopLyfe’s lead singer Kehlani Parrish after being told the group had finished fourth in the competition. “We just lived our dream and we had so much fun. Big fun.”
Team iLuminate finished in third place, with their amazing glow-in-the-dark dance performances. Team iLuminate definitely stood out in this season’s competition.
The Silhouettes took second place with their beautiful and creative choreography, unlike any other large dance groups who have entered this competition.
Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., the solo vocalist with a voice as smooth as velvet walked away as the “America’s Got Talent” winner, along with $1 million and a headlining show in Las Vegas.
“Thank you so much for just believing in me,” Landau said upon hearing himself announced as the winner. “It’s been a long, hard journey ever since I was a kid. And it’s finally paying off.”
Landau will headline in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace next month, along with the other three finalists.
