Thousands Try For Mega Millions Jackpot

The Mega Millions jackpot has reached its second largest level in history, enticing many to rush for tickets with hopes of landing the winning numbers.

Tuesday’s jackpot of $335 million is not far from the 2007 record high of $390 million. Businesses are seeing a constant flow of traffic for Mega Millions tickets as the drawing for Tuesday looms near.

The Mega Millions lottery is offered in 41 states and Washington, D.C. at $1 a ticket. The goal is to match the five regular numbers as well as a Mega number. The drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday nights.

Winners can choose to take yearly payments or have a cash lump sum paid to them. Those that opt to cash out at the current jackpot would receive around $224 million.
