The Suicide Squad will be the must see film of 2016.
Here’s the four reasons why:
The Director
David Ayer has been tapped to helm Suicide Squad (2016).
As the Director of End of Watch and Fury, Ayer has a proven eye for high-tension action, an ear for clever and emotional character interaction, and a mind for unforgettable moments.
A Suicide Squad film under him promises to be an exhilarating and memorable experience.
The Set Up
Traditionally, the Suicide Squad, officially known as Task Force X, is a team of killers, degenerates, thieves and maniacs with no other option than to participate in the government’s most difficult, dangerous and deniable operations.
A somewhat similar set up was used for the most financially successful film of summer 2014. Guardians of the Galaxy was a massive hit. Suicide Squad has the potential to follow in its quirky footsteps.
The Cast
Though unconfirmed and unofficial, the rumored cast is a high profile team of A-listers.
With Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Tom Hardy and Ryan Gosling, Suicide Squad would have enough talent, charisma and smoldering hotness to engage fans and casual movie-goers alike.
Plus, no one is going to want to miss one of Will Smith’s most important steps back into blockbuster cinema.
The Characters
Suicide Squad features lesser-known DC villains, notably characters such as Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang and Black Spider.
In an industry where the actors themselves are thinking that superheroes are getting a bit old hat, obscure anti-heroes are a proven refreshment.
There’s also the fact that team-up features are popular. Suicide Squad will deliver on that front, pulling together a large cast of characters – with more than a few disposable ones!
Suicide Squad will open in August of 2016. That means the project will soon move into pre-production and the hype surrounding it will increase tenfold.
