Toy Scooters Recalled

Kiddieland Toys Limited has issued a recall on some of their toy scooters and one model of Racing trikes.

Kiddieland Toys Limited, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has placed a recall on two types of toys with one type being sold between January 2009 through February 2011, and the other type being sold from January 2009 though April 2011.

One of the toys being recalled is the Light and Sounds Children Scooters. The reason for recall is because a child’s finger could get caught in the hinge mechanism between the steering column and the platform, which poses a laceration hazard. So far the CPSC and Kiddieland have received two reports where children’s fingers were caught in the hinge and needed stitches.

The recall involves three models of the scooter, including a red spider-man, a blue Thomas and Friends ,and a pink girls scooter.

The other toy being recalled is the Disney Princess Plastic Racing trikes. The reason for recall is because the handlebar which houses a plastic castle display with three princess figures poses a laceration hazard if a child falls on it. The  CPSC and Kiddieland have received three reports of children having facial lacerations.

According to the Kiddieland Toys website, consumers should take the recalled toys away from children immediatly and contact Kiddieland for a free component to fix the toys.
