“Troy The Activity Truck” Recalled

“Troy The Activity Truck”, made by San Diego based Infantino LLC, is being recalled. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada (HC) announced the recall today, due to a choking hazard.

According to announcement, the plastic beads on the truck’s bead runs can detach. The detached beads introduce a chocking hazard to young children. The organizations are asking consumers to take the toy truck away from children immediately. They can then contact Infantino for a free toy as a replacement.

The toy trucks are described as being red, blue and yellow. They have plastic circle, star, and heart shaped beads attached to bead runs on the back of the toy. The front of the toy track has a face on it. The truck plays music and the back wheels spin when the toy is turned on. The company’s name is found on the front of the truck. The model number is placed on the bottom of the truck. Model numbers 153-210, 206-110 or 506-110C are affected by the recall.

In the US and Canada, approximately 42,400 were sold at Babies R Us, Toys R Us, Marshalls, Meijer, TJ Maxx, and other toy stores. Of those, Infantino said that they have received 28 reports of the beads becoming detached. Two children were reported to have gagged on the beads. The toy trucks were sold for about $15, from September 2009 through February 2011.

Consumers who own the toy are being asked to contact Infantino at 888-808-3111, from 8am to 4pm, Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, or visit Infantino’s site at service.infantino.com for more information.
