Season 6 of ‘The Walking Dead’ is shaping up to be a warped version of “The Wizard of Oz’, with Wolves, Walkers, And Negan? Oh My….
Based on reports and rumors from various entertainment outlets the upcoming season is going to be fraught with dangers for our favorite gang of zombie fighters, including a possible end of season face-off with the biggest villain of all (no, not the Wicked Witch) Negan!!
*SPOILERS AHEAD* This article contains spoilers for the upcoming and previous seasons, so stop reading if you aren’t caught up.
The season 6 premiere will run 90-minutes long on October 11th and it’s promising to be the most action packed ever.
Here is a rundown of what the latest spoilers and rumors are:
·The Big Bad Wolf will come knocking:
This has been confirmed by showrunner Scott M. Gimple.
Turns out Dorothy had it all wrong: it’s not lions, tigers or bears to fear- it’s wolves!
All those W’s fans have been seeing were a hint of the next threat to the group’s safety- The Wolves.
Based on a group called the Scavengers in the comics, the Wolves are vicious nomads who rob and kill- and have their sights set on Rick (Andrew Grimes) and company.
Reports indicate they will try, ala The Big Bad Wolf, to huff and puff and bring down Alexandria.
The Wolves mark their kills by carving W’s into their victims heads and seem to enjoy scaring people as much as killing them (remember Morgan’s encounter with those 2 men he tied up)
While these guys are definitely something to fear, this season they may be the weakest of the threats if the other rumors prove true.
· Walkers will be a bigger threat than ever:
Rumor from various outlets, including The Spoiling Dead Fans Facebook page (and they are right 99% of the time)
There will be a walker invasion of the Alexandria Safe-Zone, courtesy of the Wolves, promises to be an epic battle that will claim the lives of many.
Clips from season 6 show the biggest horde of walkers ever taking down the walls of the town.
Turns out gun shots from the Wolves are what attract them and just like with the prison, they will destroy the safe home our group has just found.
·Negan IS coming:
This has been confirmed by executive producer David Alpert– but when he is coming has not been.
Everyone knows Negan will appear, it’s just a question of when.
Well, according to MoviePilot the show is on pace to introduce him by the end of the season.
Based on the comics time line it is a definite possibility- one I’m anticipating and dreading all at the same time.
