Uber Cuts Prices In NYC Starting Today

If you live in New York City and use Uber then you’ll be thrilled to hear that starting today the company is cutting prices by 15%.

This move comes on the heels of the company announcing they would dropping prices across the U.S. and Canada to battle falling sales during the winter months.

Under the new price cut the minimum fare is now $7 instead of $8 and riders can save upwards of $2 or more for a ride.

For example, if you use Uber to go from Park Slope to Sunset Park you can expect to pay around $8.90 as opposed to the usual $10.50.

This is great news for commuters, as Uber’s competitor, Lyft, is currently not offering discounts in the NYC area (although they are offering price cuts in 33 other cities).

Odds are Lyft will eventually offer New Yorkers some type of break, but until then Uber should have the market cornered.

Do you use Uber?  Are you excited about the price cut?
