UFC On Fox 12 is headlined by an epic clash at 170 lbs between “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler and “The Immortal” Matt Brown.

This bout has huge title picture implications for the Welterweight Division.

UFC President Dana White announced that the winner of the bout would indeed secure a title shot.

Lawler has won 4 out of his last 5 fights in the UFC, with his only loss in the octagon being a closely contested fight with current Welterweight Champion Johnny Hendricks.

Matt Brown is in the midst of an incredible seven fight win streak. If that wasn’t impressive enough, 6 out of his last 7 victories came by way of TKO or KO.

The co-main event on the card pits Anthony “Rumble” Johnson against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Anthony Johnson is coming off of a three round destruction of highly ranked Light Heavyweight Contender Phil Davis. The fight saw Johnson avoid all 8 of Davis’ take down attempts.

Nogueira beat former UFC Light Heavyweight  Champion Rashad Evans by unanimous decision in his most recent octagon appearance. This fight saw Evans put on a lackluster performance in which he offered very little offense.

It will be interesting to see how the fight takes place if it is contested on the feet. Both men possess knockout power. Nogueira is a former professional boxer.

Also on the card, wild and relentless Clay Guida squares off against Dennis Bermudez at 145 lbs. Josh Thomson will compete against Bobby Green and Jorge Masvidal will look to stop 2nd degree Taekwondo Black Belt Daron Cruickshank.

UFC On Fox 12 will emanate from the SAP Center in San Jose, CA on Saturday July 26th. The prelims will air at 3pm PST and the main card will begin at 5pm PST on Fox.

Let us know who you think will win in the main event clash between Lawler and Brown.
