Under The Dome premiered last week.
But those of us who missed it will get a second chance to watch the premiere tonight, when CBS is having a ‘special encore presentation’ of the newest sci-fi show on TV.
Its rebroadcast is at at 9pm (ET).
Under The Dome is based on a novel from the horror great, Steven King. King is also listed as one of the executive directors for the series.
Without giving away anything that the previews for the premiere haven’t already revealed, the story is about the inhabitants of a small town that, without warning, are suddenly trapped in their town by mysterious, invisible, impenetrable, force-field-like dome.
People are separated from families, loved ones, resources, and stuck together to deal with it as best they can.
The premiere aired last Monday to a respectable audience, reported to be just over 13.5 million viewers. it was easily the topped ranked show for the night.
The true test will be to see how many more catch it tonight, and how many come back to watch the second episode on Monday night.
So far, audience reaction appears to be mixed. Those that have rated the show on Amazon, where it is available free to Amazon Prime members and for purchase to non-members for $1.99 per episode, have given it 3 and a half stars out of 5.
