With the recent release of the new iPhone 5… and the announcement of a new HTC phone soon hitting the market… the rumor mill is now going full steam on the possibility of a new Galaxy Nexus smartphone being released soon.
If rumors are to be believed, Google is set to possibly show off it’s new smartphone in the next 30 days.
While Androidandme is reporting that these are still rumors, and nothing has been confirmed by Google insiders, it wouldn’t be much of a shock if they had some validity.
Andoidandme is reporting that their source says the device’s specs have already been released to some blogs.
What may be most surprising is what’s rumored to be the on the new smartphone – a brand new version of Android OS.
The current Android OS, Jellybean, is just about four months old. That would make the release of an Android 4.2 OS seem a little too soon to some.
The holiday season is coming up (83 days till Christmas if anyone is counting!). The new iPhone is already on many a tech-head’s list. If Google were to announce their new Galaxy Nexus within the next month, and then have it on sale within weeks after that, it might be able to cash in on shoppers that perhaps weren’t able to shell out the money for an iPhone 5 at the time of its release.
