On Monday, September 13, Rafael Nadal played against Novak Djokovic in the U.S. Open men’s final.

The tennis match began with intensity as Rafael Nadal won the toss and took the first serve, as well as the first two games (2-0).

Djokovic made a strong comeback and won the first set against Nadal, 6-2.

During the second set, Nadal again took the lead (Nadal 2-6, 2-0 Djokovic). The players tied with 4-4, but shortly after, Djokovic took the game with 6-4.

Nadal scores the first point in the third set (Nadal 1-0 Djokovic). Five ties also took place between the players in the third (2-2, 3-3, 4-4, 5-5, 6-6), which resulted in a tie-breaker for the game. Nadal won the tie-breaker, 7-3.

Into the fourth set, the score was as follows: Nadal 2-6 4-6 7-6 Djokovic.

At this point, Djokovic only needed one more set to win the match!

Djokovic took the first game (1-0), then a medical timeout at 2-0. Djokovic looked much better afterward and continued the set with fresh energy. Followed by the following game scores before the fourth set ended: Nadal 0-2 0-3 1-3 1-4 1-5 1-6 Djokovic.

With the following scores, Novak Djokovic reigned victorious against Rafael Nadal for the 2011 U.S. Open title: 6-2 6-4 6-7 6-1.
